John Deere D plowing at Northland threshing bee MN
Great video, bud!
Your technique was just fine.
Perhaps you might step back a bit farther so we could see the tractor rather than the writing on the side of the tires. And, stop swinging the camera around in an effort to make the viewer dizzy. The sunlight may have played havoc on RUclips video but nowhere near as catastrophically as your near total lack of video technique.
Awesome, I never saw a self-propelled MM combine before. My grandpa had a pull type.
That's a beautiful thing 😍
Blue Ox,the next one to it,Blue Gem and at least one more have Steiger cabs. AL B.
You gotta love that. Start the load at an idle and then push up the throttle. Not many machines today will do that
About 40 years ago i bought a JD F-135 i think the model was semi mounted plow that would not scour in our heavy soil, JD plows always did , found out the previous owner had replaced the mallbords with cheap solid steel TSC instead of the soft center original JD mallbords ,put JD mallbords on & it cleaned right up .
Soectacular "John Deere D"!!!💪👍👏💚💛🇺🇸
Nice
Better have a good pressure switch on it 😂
Ever notice how going back to basics ALWAYS WORKS?
maybe just see first if thing can go 23ft without stalling
Spectacular "John Deere"!💪👍👏💚💛🇺🇸
Guys will see this and be like “Hell yeah”
Good ol sport
Hi Tom, good luck on your 445 project. Looks like it will keep you busy for a while. I had never seen the tool box under the hood on a 445 until your video. I may have to look for one of thoughts for my 445 and 335, party cool!
That right there is why the D was the favorite plow tractor of of thousands of farmers from 1923-1953 and beyond. Given good soil conditions it would pull a four bottom plow all day and under the worst conditions it would still pull a 3 bottom.
Grand dad har an R, and a D and a 620 and two 730 diesels and a 820 diesel and a 830 diesel . Oh yeah he was big time share cropping in the late 60’s and on into the mid 70’s and every one of those tractors were antiques then.
Those two big 5 pound coffee can sized pistons are playing sweet music! I miss my days on a 820 and 830 pulling a 13’ John Deere disk.
Old D damn near yanked that plow in the ground from a dead stop.
It's interesting how much you would have to spend to get a new tractor to pull this same plow.
Moves along nicely pulling four!
Okay like dude what is it..... No but REALLY 🤔

Are you serious
Pretty sure I am LoL 😆
Love that sound
Just subscribed and liked. We have several letter series farmall's. We have video on our channel.
that John deere D sounds great like that 😊😊 can U hear it talking I can then when it's plowing it gets in a pull then it sounds even better singing 🎶 😊 let it talk and sing both I enjoy it myself 😊😅🎉😂❤😊 /😊😊🎉🎉❤😊 OMG 1O 9 2O23
That’s bad ass, gotta be more than 502 cubes.
After plowing we greased our plows, unless there was a sandy bottom nearby to scour them up.
The strange thing is that is Sandy ground, I'm not sure why the plow wouldn't scour
What is he running with the 5 bottom plow? Chevy? Making it a GM . Rest of the crew looking great, even little fella once he got popped started.
That D seems to handle that plow effortlessly. I like to hit my plow bottoms with a wire cup brush first to help them shine up initially.
Three Plow Tractor Pulling Four
Iv pullers 4 with mine
That’s why even though the big R diesel was supposed to be it’s replacement, demand and back orders were so high they finally built the last hundred or so of them in 1953 in an alley between the factory buildings after their production line was dismantled. (That’s where the term streetcar D’S comes from)
Nice running tractor, I had one in my younger days, the D is an awesome tractor. Too bad this owner didn’t put on an original exhaust instead of that straight pipe, it makes that D sound weird, not the way a D should sound.
Old D is hitting hard.......sweet!
Good running tractor. Good looking outfit too.
Might be because the cylinders are leaned out as well as the carb is lean
Too lean
It’s all lean
I had a guy give me an old welder from back in the 50's similar to yours, AC 220 I don't remember the brand , but I used every rod I had, and couldn't make it stay lit, 6011, 6010, 6013, 7018, 7014, hardfacing Stoody, even arc carbon gouging rod. Nothing would light up and stay burning. I guess they were better welders back then !!
Very cool !!
that plug looks just fine... it's not lean... looks just the way it should.... sled needs a little help... question is are you up for it.. ??
👍
Would you sell your dash board??
What is your sensitivity, and color line set to?
Very nice tractor. I love it
What kind of planter are you using? Is it an air drill? If so what kind of dry lubricant do you use ith your seed? Just asking because we just bought a Case SDX30 Air drill with Concord 2400 Cart.
Fargoair, 4060 tool bar, 2800 cart, same as a case ih before they dropped the Concord line, no lube needed with the seed, or at least we don't and never had a problem
I had 1 like that for 30 years and I had to replace the condenser once when it was hard to get ark to stay lit .Best $75.00 bux I ever spent . Get yourself a copper fitting brush to clean the holes where the leads go into will help. And dont use an ac welder on damp earth it will bite you. Goodluck
good to know, thanks for the comment
Hi tom, how I have one like this, I need new cables and if I can not find them complete where can I find the leads to start making the set. thanks.
you can get the ends at amazon.com or most any place that sells forney welders and welding supplies
Old m dont know anything's there
