Ive crocheted for almost 50 years and am grateful to learn new ideas! Love those doughnuts! Thanks for the video, def going to try this
So glad you like it! I find this to be way easier than a Russian join, and I have KNOT ;) had any problems with it coming apart if done correctly.
I like your motivational video. I have so many crafts that I love to dabble in but I dobt think i have the time. i say that because if i get a flash of inspiration ill work on a project from start to finish even if i stay up until 2am. Retired once, husband passed away, went back to work. I sooo wish I could just do my crafts and have some extra income but im so flighty I can't gat my housework done how am I supposed to work on my crafts? I suspect I have executive disfunction but not willing to get professional help in fear ill be labeled. is it bad to have several different types of crafts you work on or do you have to bite the bullet and do just one "niche" item or craft in order to be successful?
First off, life gets hard. If you love crafting, find a little bit of time to do it for fun! I actually teach creatives how to make money with their crafts. I typically say to niche down to start out, but you could also combine your items into monthly packs. What kinds of crafts do you do? Also, don’t fear a “label” knowing if you have something can be so freeing. When I found out I had anxiety and depression, I could finally move forward and figure out how to live the life I truly wanted.
Thanks for sharing ❤
You are very welcome!
This is how I do it so much easier than dealing with 3 balls Thanks for the video

I am a crocheter, and write patterns also. How much I earn by Revelry or Etsy in a month?
Are you asking how much you could make on Ravelry or Etsy? If so, it completely depends on your products and how much marketing you do. I’ve seen people do nothing but add new listings and make around $40/month. I’ve also seen and helped people market themselves and earn upwards of $4,000/month.
Thankyou ❤️
❤ Thank you

nice video (but the music!!!😬 not necessary!)

The main thing I like about this method is that it manages the twist of the three strands in a better way. •Too much twist variation happens when I just hold multiple strands together. •Or if I create a multi-strand center pull cake on my yarn ball winder, the twist varies both as I wind the ball, and as I unwind it while crocheting. •This method anchors the twist every time I pull through that loop. •I had tried it once before, with some ultrafine wool that was 20 stitches to the inch guage on one of those antique steel double ought needles. •It became a very usable weight yarn with about 8 stitches to the inch gauge. •Best of all, the resulting stitch texture was more like a plied yarn with a standardized twist, than random bunchy yarn that would constantly split or snag along the strands. •This method of tripling yarn produces more comfortable working, and a better finished texture. Thanks for sharing. 😎✨
Yes! I hardly ever miss pulling all tree stands through a stitch with this method.
That’s soo funny 😂😂😂😂😂😊
❤😂😂😂😂😂 this is amazing, our shadow side when we refuse to acknowledge it 😂😂😂
For real! Not as tidy as it appears. Lol
It would be easier to get 3 balls of wool and pull out the ends of each, and their you go .. chunky yarn
Absolutey, this is just another way to do it. A lot of people like doing this for smaller items or if they want to use up some yarn stash.
Thank you so much dear🥰
You are so welcome! I hope the examples helped to show what you can make with these knots.

Genius...!!! Thanks...!!!
I don't like working with thin yarn so I always do a 2 strand with it especially for a blanket
Makes sense! Are blankets your favorite thing to crochet.
Oh wow, I never thought to use a Navajo ply this way. Great idea!
Thank you! This is my first time hearing the term Navajo Ply, I’ll have to look into that!
Game changer! Thank you 🤩
You bet!
I have been doing this for years and you have explained it so clear, great job
Thank you so much!
This is great because now I can use the cheap thin I stupidly got from eBay.
🤣 we gotta do what we gotta do!
Yeah Amazon yarn thin af too!!!
What size yarn is this equal to, chuncky 5, jumbo 6 or 7?
That’s a great question! I wish I knew the answer, but I always use this for projects I make up. There are so many confusing articles about that, I want to say 6, probably a super bulky, but I don’t want to give you the wrong answer. did start as a medium 4 though if that helps. Anyone else know?
use a weight 4 with this method and its equal to a 6 weight
@@Truechildofgodthank you!
its was no problemThank you for taking the time to film this helpful video. I just subscribed :)@@eleniaman
New subscriber! Would love to see more of your content. I thought the join and chunky weight were great ideas!!
I did 12 test trials of this knot and no matter how hard I pulled it didn’t come apart! I am an experienced crocheter but I am also lazy 🤣 I LOVE this knot!!! Thank you for explaining it so clearly!!
Love it! I’m glad you like it. I’m definitely someone who likes the simpler crochet patterns and ways to do things and not think too hard about it. Lol
I do not believe that knots should ever be used. They can come undone. I use the Russian Join as my preferred method of joining.
I agree, I don't like having to use knots, but sometimes it's necessary. I especially don't like using any kind of knots in clothing, but I do like this knot method when using this chunky method. The Russian join is the best, especially when using regular/standard yarn.
Some yarns already come with knotted yarn in the middle of the skein. What do you do when that happens? Do you cut the knot out and rejoin with the Russian join?
If I'm using this chunky method, I just leave it. If you're using it as a single worsted strand, then cutting it and doing the Russian Join would probably look the best.@@thewitchhut63
seems like more work then im willing to do, i just get 3 center pull balls and tie the 3 ends together and its instant 3 stand chunky yarn.
That’s definitely another way to do it if you have three available to you. There are so many alternative ways to do things on crochet. What’s you’re favorite thing to crochet?
@itseleniaman yeah its true there's many ways to do things! i like crocheting hats best , i like to learn new stitches and then do them in a hat since its a pretty quick project compared to like scarves & stuff. i also like crocheting little ball animals like a round chicken or pig etc
Me too.
I thought the same thing, but then I thought, well what if I don't have 3 skeins of the same color. I'll have to watch it again to be sure I got the steps correct, but yeah, I think this would come in handy when I'm making something small, but it needs chunky and gosh darn, I don't have a lick of chunky yarn and I don't have three skeins of the same color, lol! Btw, the three strands from three balls has been the method I've used over the years, lol.
@thewitchhut63 yeah i think if i was needing just a little i would try this!
Thank you.
You are very welcome!
