This music captures so many melancholy yet beautiful memories. It reminds us of when we were young and had the freedom to just imagine. Every single note takes us back to those magical days of our childhood, where ripples in a blue pool were scaly creatures of the deep, and rustles in the long grass were leafy, winged reptiles. It takes us back to the days where the soft clouds in the sky seemed so close to our outstretched fingers, almost within reach, and endless daydreams hid just beyond the horizon. For those of us who yearn and ache to be a part of this world instead of our own, the bittersweet mix of pain and exhilaration we feel from the movies and this soundtrack is almost unbearable. Even still I find myself glancing out of windows and pretending, waiting, willing a dragon to soar through the clouds. If anyone reading this in time to come feels the same, you are not alone. The feeling is called anemoia- a deep desire for a place you have never known. We feel homesick for the land of Berk, because it's the place where we grew up. But always remember that you have not lost the ability to return, in your mind, on your screens, with the music. Always remember the memories of when there were dragons, but think of the memories still to come. And when the dragons can return in peace. Whatever you are going through right now, know it will pass. This night will pass. For now, close your eyes, take a deep breath, listen to the music, let those tears flow. And just fly.

I grew up with httyd. It was my entire childhood. I created games about httyd in kindergarten and Primary school and my friends played them with me even if they had no idea what they were about. I drew dragons and imagined my own dragon that would follow me around through my daily life and now I am 17 years old and I still love httyd so very very much. I never stopped liking it. Thank you for this playlist

A few days ago, I went to universal studios. I went to the this theme first and I watched a life performance of this. The actors were identical to the characters in the movie and everything was just so real…. I don’t know how to explain this but, I felt so depressed when I got home. I’ve always loved this movie and I loved how free all the characters in this movie was. The show at universal was amazing. The animatronics were flying and there was fire and smoke and it felt so real. I felt like I was actually there, in berk😭 Now I’m back here, at home, back in my depressing room and all my problems coming back to me. Idk, I just felt happier than ever and so loved with this movie and the performance, I just wish I could just step out of reality and go to berk and meet hiccup, the dragons, astrid and everyone. I can’t explain how sad I’m feeling these days. I cry every time I think back of this movie and universal. The feeling of not belonging in this world is terrible. I can’t even tell people this because they’ll just say, “oh your just a fan of this movie, it’s not a big deal” I really feel like I belong with HTTYD…it feels like home.
