Very Nice Haul from just a few trees !!

Thank you for sharing this list. It is well researched and presented to us. I appreciate it. In my chicken's case, the main reasons they weren't laying were a rooster that was overmating them (he hopped on, and did the "cloacal kiss" 3-5 times per hen during each mount! What the heck... We finally removed him from our flock. And also I now believe they have depluming mites. They have been bareback (partially from the rooster, and partially from the probably mites) for most of this year. We're finally treating with ivermectin topically for the mites (I also have seen ONE red mite and with Elector PSP to get rid of lice and anything else they may have on them that is treated by both. They should start laying again soon.

Hi, I’ve been thinking about making my own feed lately but the only thing stopping me from doing it is that my own feed won’t have the same vitamins and minerals that comercial feeds have. You mentioned that you use mineral and vitamin extract in liquid form, but you did not say the name of the product. Could you please share this information ?

We don’t really fertilise. But we mainly grow fruit trees . Once I gave them one shovel of cow manure ( completely organic from our cows) otherwise I just plant some support tree or plant next to our fruit tree. We use this to mulch around our 1000s of trees. Also any grass in between the rows gets blown on to our trees by our ride on mower. What you do is great but most don’t realise as long as you mulch heavy you won’t have to fertilise.

I used to make nettle fertiliser when I worked on an organic farm. Will used to fill a big tank full of just nettles. This would break down and release a green liquid which you could add to the tea tape for tomatoes in the polytunnel with a special container that would release small amounts into the pipe. I think comfrey works too!

You don't show what it looks like when fully fermented. How do you apply to your garden. Is it still leafy material that you spread lightly, or how thickly. How big an area will one bucket be able to cause the desired benefit? How long after applying can you plant your seeds or bedding plants?
