I think you took really nice song and made it darker and while that's impressive to some degree the storyline itself can use some fine-tuning The lyrics are far from literal in my interpretation of it, By "I was an island" it's supposed to mean someone desserted, alone (whether by choice or by force), and isolated Them putting a boat in their sand was them saying that they broke through that isolation, they became their company "I was a fighter, and I was so brave.. but I lowered my sword when you held me and swore you'd stay! stay! stay!" This *SCREAMS* intimacy issues and someone having felt abandoned (like a desserted island) and then someone finally coming along who loves them and that they love in return I don't know if you've ever felt abandoned, but when you find someone after that that loves you and makes you feel like you don't have to fight feelings and relationships, it's hard to want anything but for them to stay. Sorry if I kinda stepped on your feet there with my interpretation of the song, but to me it really just sounds like someone who has a lot of trust issues and abandonment issues filled with fear and anxiety that the person they love that showed them not everyone was going to immediately leave them, would one day just up and abandon them after "coming to their senses"

@@fluffiu oh, lol nah dude im fine. ive never been abandoned, but i do love dark twists. i love the concept of what people would perceive as an either emotional or uplifting song over such a dark story, and i loveee psychology. i made this comment a while ago, so i have done a lot of adjusting in my mind. Your interpretation of this song is great! and you can have everything that you think that it means, that's totally fine. but i was actually thinking like an animatic so like, i was gonna have the story line be that there's this hero agency/network/system that my character is in, right? and this agency isn't all bright sunny rainbows, there's a lot of corruption and stuff, and the hero isn't exactly sure what's right and what's wrong, even though they've been taught their whole life that the agency is right. now this is where the villain/antagonist/scientist person comes in. the people they work for are seeing that the hero is conflicted, so they send them to try and lead them to their side. now i actually really love your thing about intimacy issues, maybe the hero has always been the lone wolf? they've always had trouble expressing how they're feeling and getting help. so anyway, one day the scientist shows up and tries to convinced them to join the villain agency or whatever. the protagonist hesitates, then fights back cus you know, conflict. The antagonist sees that they're not gonna convince them so they kidnap them and bring them back to wherever the HQ are. now i here was what i was thinking. emotional manipulation./brainwashing the scientist person manipulates them into loving them, seeing them as a wonderful person that gave them love and joy and happiness. and yeah maybe he even believes that himself. but it isn't true. so thats where i think this song should take place. while this heartfelt song about love is playing, its shown all the horrible things the scientist has done, but the protagonist sees no fault in them. why? because they love them. and yeah this is still going to cause the normal things in a relationship, like say anxiety and trust issues. but they genuinely don't see anything wrong with the antagonist because they've been forced to view them that way. and what i think might be the saddest part of this, maybe this was the first time they've ever actually opened up to anyone. that they have trusted anyone enough to let them in. and the first time they do, it's fake. so sorry this was so long! but i reallyyy like ideas and stories. again, this song is up for interpretation and all your points are completely valid! but here's my two cents. thanks for listening!
