Yes, sadly the QtEMU project is abandoned and does not work with newer versions of QEMU. You can try using QEMU from command line, or use older versions of QEMU.

Second, you might be choosing an acceleration method that is not supported on your system. You need to deselect it (yes, you need to deselect it. It might look like a radiobox but is actually a checkbox) and select the other one.

You cannot open that dialog again. You need to go to File > Preference and then set the options there.

Why would you want to run DOS when there is Windows 11 available? Just to experience it! Also, some old software runs only on DOS 1.x.

@@legacyinstaller8094 Because Windows is a fascist, virtual concentration camp full of handcuffs and stranglehold slaves and the Windows kernel is the big boss. But in DOS the user is the big boss to do what ever the user want to do without any restriction, example to access the hardware components directly. If you try this in Windows your programm will end and stop running very soon with a protection violation, because there are all electric barbewires around to prevent you to access your hardware directly.

@@maxmuster7003 Indeed! If that is why you want to install DOS, then is it is better not to install DOS 1.x and leave the DOSBox defaults. I would even suggest you to try FreeDOS. But, I have posted this video to learn how to install DOS 1.x just for the sake of knowing how to install DOS 1.x.

@@maxmuster7003 Many software were designed especially for DOS 1.x. For example VisiCalc Advanced IBM version (winworldpc.com/product/visicalc/advanced-ibm ). Of course, later versions of many software run on later versions of DOS but then again we are installing that old software just for the sake of it.
