yes, if you and the person you want to room with both put in a request, then there is a good chance you will get placed with each other. but I went random freshman year and it went really well -- still room with my original roommate and I'm a junior, now!
did you have to raise the bed that high or did it come like that? and if you raised it did you have to get one of those lofting kit things
Lindsey Reopel it didn’t come like that, I had to raise it. They always have lofting kits available but you really don’t need it. Me and my roommate did it ourselves just using a mallet/hammer thing
Most people say if you just ask they may loft it for you, just be really nice
