I put a new aftermarket derby cover and printed gasket on my '93 Evo three-hole. I torqued the new cover to 85 in/lb and it leaked like a sieve. Prior to doing this, it had the stock derby cover and rubber o-ring gasket which didn't leak at all. So I went back and reinstalled the old o-ring rubber gasket as well as the new printed gasket and retorqued it. That stopped the leak, but I feel uncertain about it. Anyone think I screwed anything up?? I monitor it for leaks all the time now LOL, but no leaks so far...

Wish I were there. I'm old now but I still ride. Mostly with my youngest son (24). I made the mistake of taking him on a road trip on my bike when he was ten years old lol. Now everything is bikes, bikes and more bikes but that's better than my eldest son (36) who wouldn't take a chance on a lottery ticket even if he were guaranteed a win (his Mom's boy). Never could get him near my bike, scared the shit out of him. Well, everyone's different I guess.
