This has helped me dream of getting this guitar. Just got my JS2480 last week through Guitar Center with a 20% off coupon. Absolutely love this guitar. Aug of 2023 I had purchased a used JS2410 that was mint and it was the nicest guitar I had ever played but I still dreamed of the JS2480. Now I have myself a proper JS collection.
@@patrickgibson2792 Congratulations, I hope it's everything you hoped for, brilliant guitar.
Thanks Dave! Your video was the best I have seen on the capabilities…..Just bought one today…
@@antonyck5141 Thanks so much, I'm glad it helped and congratulations on your purchase, they're fantastic guitars. I found once mine settled it's got the most stable tuning I've come across.
Wow, this is excellent Dave. Thanks for sharing with us 👏👏
@@alanknott363 thanks for your kind comments, glad you enjoyed it.
What does your signal chain look like?
Hi Dave, wonderful sound, and such a technical expertise 😂. I am beginning a project to customize a hohner St. Could please tell me what you've changed and what parts and micro you've choosen please?
Hi Dave. Awesome guitar. Question. Is the neck Utopia pickup f spaced, or regular?
@@jeremystone2658 Thanks, They were both F Spaced
@davidupton8100 Oh, wow. You answered! Can I ask another one, please? How is the fit for the neck pickup? Do the strings and the pole pieces align? The reason I ask is that it's usually recommended to have a regular spaced pup in the neck and f spaced in the bridge. How does your guitar look cosmetically? My apologies if I'm wasting your time.
@ No problem, zoom in on this pic and see what you think facebook.com/share/p/1D7FfdEZws/?mibextid=WC7FNe
I was also at this gig. Seen Walter many times. I also filmed this song, i agree it was the stand out song! ruclips.net/video/A7G-i8BsahA/видео.html&start_radio=1
Thanks for sharing this, i was also there and it was just brilliant night, Walt and his band were on fire, seen him on most of his Gigs in the midlands venues , He is the best.
Thanks so much for sharing this, I was fortunate to be at this gig. What an awesome night! Walter is a living legend of the blues, a brilliant and somewhat undervalued guitarist
@@jeffreychase3103 Yes he was excellent, I've not seen him before, this was probably song of the night for me.
Pia sounds about 20 times better. Now I am scared to try out this pickup in my PRS dgt core.
Mine just got ordered, talking to techs in my area, no one has ever dealt with adjusting the neck pick up. I have been told there is a pcb board where you make adjustments, any chance of sharing a picture or settings of where yours is at ?
Using a EQ pedal open up possibilities on this guitar .
@@jonset70 It has a massive range of tone options as it is, this is one of the most versatile guitars I've owned. But yes, as with any guitar, an EQ pedal broadens this. I use a Helix, so every patch has a unique EQ pedal setup.
Nice😊
I just done like the colors
Me again, new s2 are used those paul pickup with. Switch. S2 are great add that to it best thing ever done great choice give it more tone options for great pickup 58/08 and narrow field best and silver sky other those 3 are my favourite
I got one s/hand red back it's amzing . I seen real Santana s/hand I got the se it amzing too nail it . I play my paul that change my mind get the Santana I know " The paul good mix. To my it's mccarty I had one to sold it for this one to me the paul mix tele/ delux/ mix les paul jr bit gretsch strat in middle tone . The bar bridge good sustained. Pickup mix what made me buy it . Trem on would be nice but I'm happy with it . I got core line hollow body 2 sim hollow special sas narrow field old sas 96 with seymour phatcat . How do u edit and save patch names? I cannot find it in the software, i just need the GM sounds to show. Thanks!

Nicely done!
Brilliant! I am getting one of this guitars! Thanks Bro!!!
@@robfrasier9412 fantastic, enjoy it
I never understood how and why Ibanez claimed that the Wizard necks are the best necks ever.I think it's subjective.I really hate the wizard necks the Js necks are more suited to my style and I feel you feel the same about the necks.
@@trevorshear7737 I totally do yes, I think it's down to personal taste, some people prefer flatter wider necks, my style is much more suited to the JS, in fact my favourite of all is a PRS Paul's Guitar which is slightly thicker, weirdly when I'm playing live an potentially pressing too hard, I find I get far less cramp with the thicker neck (I'm not talking baseball bat Gibsons) but this is partly why I prefer the JS and PRS
Got my eye on this one. If you had to choose between this and the PO, what would you pick?
@@robfrasier9412 PO? sorry being dumb today
@@davidupton8100 PIA...sorry. I am dumb today
@@davidupton8100 PIA..I am the dumb one.
Wait wait wait ... what? I had no idea the sustainer was also useable as a neck pickup on these guitars. That's incredible! That's literally a game changer.
@@redshiftdrifter Yes it is when the sustainer is off. And it's a good pickup that you can adjust output and tone.
Wow! what rig do You used with Helix, please?
@@giuseppeluce2505 Hi, for my videos, I use my Helix directly into my sound interface and into my DAW. On stage, I use 2 Headrush 112s running in Stereo and then feeding on into the PA. It gives an epic stereo spread on stage and out front. My Marshall Stack gathers dust and hasn't been turned on for about 5 years.
Have you played the cheaper JS240 and if so how do they compare?
Great guitar but not the quality of these Japanese made models
Not a big fan of this guitar. It looks too tacky, especially with those pickups. The JEM looked fine.
I just purchased one of these from Sweetwater zero% financing/special labor day sale. can't wait to play it \m/
This is such a catchy number, its screaming out to be a song with words too. Great job Dave.
I think this could maybe have been a bit of music from Miami Vice. Really liking the vibe.
@@richardbennett2512 thanks Rich
Great track Dave
Superb
Awesome guitarist and song writer in his own right, but also a superb guitarist and song writer for The Sonical. Add this talent to the covers band, Deeper Cut, that he is a member of, and you have a not to be missed talent. Highly recommended. I will definitely be checking out Think Again. Cheers Dave.
@@richardbennett2512 Many thanks Richard, much appreciated, I've got a lot to live up to now 😂
The sound is always spot on.. Joe is a master of performing his music..
Dave this is splendid ! You nail this tune. The soul of the great Shane is here. You play very well and your sound is magic. Bravo !!!! Do you know please where I could find this backing track ?
Wow thank you, I've always loved this tune so decided to give it a go last year. I think I just used the Pogues instrumental version and used EQ to back off the lead instruments so the guitar stands out more. ruclips.net/video/Z9FzsWSuLrg/видео.htmlsi=OCcdxvS75yFaRXO7
@@davidupton8100 thanks you for the answer. I will have a look at this backing. And begin now to learn the lead parts to be ready for Christmas 😉🎄👍
@@SandroGomes-dw5jx They make fantastic guitars, Ibanez and PRS being my favourite brands. I'm sure your RG 350 is also an excellent guitar. Learning never ends with guitar, it's a life long journey, yes top end guitars are beautiful to play, and nice to aspire to own, but you will be able to learn just as well on your RG, enjoy your journey
Thank you for sharing your guitar. You talked me into one 👍
Nice guitar! Nice review. I have a couple of USA PRS, a Singlcut 594 and a Silver Sky, and I’ve been thinking this or the Modern Eagle V (Similar I think, but with a single coil in the middle position) would round out the stable. PRS is n their golden era, making the best guitars they ever have. I’ve been selling off Fender, Gibson and Martin guitars for me. I’d also like a PRS 12 string, I always like an electric 12. I have a mid 2000s OLP (MusicMan copy) which is really high quality, low action and perfect intonation on all 12 strings at standard tuning.
@@DennyBob521 Many thanks. I certainly agree PRS are in their golden era, they are exceptional guitars, the Paul's guitar has stopped me buying and wanting new guitars. I also have been selling off my Gibsons (not so much Fender) as I don't play them anymore. The Modern Eagle V is stunning too, I may trade some more of my collection for one of these at some point. I have a Custom 24 I love for songs that need the trem, but I'd love to have a trem and the TCI pickups (as well as the Paul's for the fixed bridge).
They don't sound like single coils Fender vintage noiseless in that strat are not single coil pickups they are stacked humbuckers.
Sound is really muffled. I wanted to like this bro, but something is wrong with the sound setup.
@@Rons-yz5qt That's a bit odd, everyone else comments on how good the sound and tone is and it sounds fine to me. Try listening again or on a different device.
I’ve had Gibson Les Paul and fender strats. But I now play nothing but PRS guitars now.
@@donaldallen4285 Yes I just sold both my Les Pauls. I rarely play anything other than my PRS's.
great playing and sound,👍 great background music, can you send a link to what it is?🙂👌
Now you need to get a better mic for your posts. Hard to understand you mate!
The amp is mic’d. What else you need.
Sounds lovely...well played.
Many thanks Carol, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Hi Dave. I bought a TriplePlay with the foot controller about 4 years ago. Installing the pickup was easy and i was able to hook it up to my iPad just fine but wasn't able to play all the soft synth sounds that i had paid for so I put the whole thing away. I'm a retired guitarist and I own quite a few synths, arrangers and high quality sound modules. Your video is giving me new hope for the TP. It seems to me that using the TP with a MIDI sound module maybe much simpler than with VSTs on my iPad or computer! My sound modules have both 5-pin MIDI and USB. Do you recommend going MIDI out from the foot controller to MIDI in on the sound module? It almost looks like you're able to bypass the foot controller altogether. Is that correct? I would be grateful for any help you can provide!
Xpensive. Very very xpensive
Excellent playing and beautiful guitar!
Many thanks Albert
Congratulations on your fantastic guitar. I have the small red JS100 bought out of curiosity and for the beauty of the body. Very high build quality for the price. It completely captivated me. After seeing your test I will move on to the higher models.
Thanks Albert, I have a JS100 too which I had painted by a Scottish artist used in this video ruclips.net/video/306bl2SND8w/видео.htmlsi=QEaudXCqoSmvdf0S I have to say it is brilliant. I upgraded the pickups to the Sathur8 in the bridge and the PAFJOE in the neck and it's stunning. Also I love the neck profile. There is something really top quality about the JS2480 but I have to say the JS100 is a spectacular guitar.
what are ya playing into?
I'm playing through a Line 6 Helix amp modeller then straight into my DAW.
*JS best*
24 frets would be useless to most players!
Where do u get that usb dongle?
Do you mean the one that comes with the Tripleplay?
@@davidupton8100Hi Dave. What sound module did you end up switching to and is the hook up just as simple - just plugging the TP USB dongle into the foot controller then MIDI out to the sound module? Thanks.
