I was an international student aged 18 at the time. I walked into the HMV in London and impulsively bought Goldie's Timeless CD album right off the rack in December 1995, not even knowing who Goldie was. Plus that Metal Headz logo really looked cool and badass. I was new into the Jungle scene and didn't realize how much this album represented a pivotal evolution in the genre into the new sound of Drum n' Bass. Buying music impulsively can go either well or very badly. I'm happy to say that the blind risk I took paid off and continues to pay off to this very day. Hearing that deep bass and synth combination at the very beginning connoted a sense of arresting seriousness; that this track compelled your attention from start to finish. All 20 minutes of it. To my mind, the Timeless track especially encapsulated the feeling of London; large, fast and technologically progressive but with deep, dark and rough undertones accentuated by the perpetual grey and rainy skies. Any movement progresses by various contributors progressively standing on the shoulders of giants. Goldie and the Timeless album is certainly such a giant. Even in 2024, this album still sounds fresh and futuristic. To me, it is a work of art that is associated with many memories of the UK and why I continue to enjoy Drum n' Bass.

I have this one 4 and 5 I think. I love jazz step it's fun.

This album is one of my all-time favorite D&B albums!! Lighters up!

was big into dara before this album but wow this one changed everything for me. this album helped me through so much bad stuff and was a pal and inspiration in the good too. still one of my fav mixes from anywhere. and same year as dieselboy's dungeonmaster's guide, what a year for dnb too!!

Found this CD in my old visor holder of dnb and trance CD's and this one was so scratched i couldnt hear it all the way through, and NOW IM BACK TO JAM. I think this CD is at least 20 years old because i got it back in 2003 or something.

I remember buying this because I recognized the name. I was stuck in the past with big room trance music...so I went in expecting Higher State of Consciousness style of tracks. Ha I was so disappointed when I popped it into the car stereo. But...a part of me knew it was quality music...fast forward a few months and this became my favourite mix of 2006...and years later became a regular favourite for post-rave after sessions. This really transformed my outlook and appreciation of tech house and techno. Until that point, I was quite ignorant towards it. This is the power of buying something by accident...if Spotify had existed back then, i would have given up after one listen - but I had bought this myself and had no choice but to give it a chance. And I'm glad I did...this is an excellent mix.
