This was meaningless. What WOULD be interesting was if they then moved away from what is a strength of GSP and now move to George’s strength. Punching. He then knocks out GSP in 2 seconds. Equal challenge

As a rugby player the double leg is preferred but when you are the smaller man. Go fish for a single leg. I have put numerous big men on their back by fishing a single. You can go high crotch or just lift their lower leg as high as possible.

This is a testament to GSP being able to handle a big guy like George who is stronger and has a 100lbs advantage. However, George will be able to handle himself against a blue belt.

The guy has been grappling for 20 years, he pretty damned good. Chael Sonnen said he was the strongest grappler he's ever faced.

Gsp walks around about 190 lbs too. He has 1 of the best takedowns pct in mma.he had to be outweighed by 50-60 lbs.
He actually doesn’t, if you watch his interview on joe rogan he said that he’s a light welterweight and doesn’t cut much (if anything) to fight at 170. He mentioned he had to actually gain weight to fight bisping at 185
on numerous occasion it was noted he is only about 180 even. So giving up about 60-70 pounds in all likely hood
@@_JM- GSP is ~190 admittedly before cutting to 170. But that guy is about 260 so it's a 65-75lb weight difference.
@@_JM- He had to gain weight so he wouldn't be undersized compared to Bisping who would have been like 200lbs in the cage. Georges said himself he bulked up to 197lbs before that fight (but he only weighed 192 during the fight due to his stomach issues).

The hardest place in the world to fight is on the ice. When you have to think about your feet instead of just throwing punches, it adds another level of difficulty. I give hockey enforcers so much credit. Their jobs are so dangerous.
Hmm. 1st off, they don't need to think about their feet, they are hockey players. 2nd: fighters also have to "think about" their feet placement. I say in quotes since it's second nature to both

Worrying about your stance and where your feet are plays a big part. You don't want to fall on your head. If they fall down conscious it makes no difference and is not dangerous since, you know, they are conscious. If they get KO'd then they are fucked. But neither have to think about their feet.

If Laraque had greater wrestling technique to use his appropriately 80lbs advantage over gsp, he would have won and probably easily too..but gsp is very very strong for guy that weighs only around 170lbs and gsp's technique is phenomenal as well I mean that's what he trains for he's a MMA fighter so it's not a surprise it's absolutely incredible but being a great wrestler it is not just about strength even though it does have a lot to do with it but it's also about technique too as well for sure..
