Tarp without trees, How to make a free standing tarp tent
Просмотров 5573 месяца назад
In this video I demonstrate a method of putting up a tarp shelter if you do not have trees to construct it with. This free standing tarp tent is an excellet choice when the land isn't presenting you with options for setting up a guy line. The tarp being used in the video is a 3 meter by 3 meter (3x3) tarp from DD hammocks #bushcraft #camping #survival #BushcraftSkills

Просмотров 3706 месяцев назад
In this video we take a look at the most fantastic fire lighting resource that there is - fat wood. This material is surrounded with mythology and nonsense, so in this video i aim to show you a fool proof way to source and ignite fatwood with a fire steel. Ideal for your bushcraft outings - especially in wet weather! #bushcraftskills #bushcraft #camping #outdoorskills
Victorinox Huntsman Review : Bushcraft Gear Review
Просмотров 4 тыс.6 месяцев назад
In this video we take a deep dive into the Victorinox huntsman knife, the in my opinion one of the very best swiss army knives on the market. The victorinox huntsman has just enough tools to make it an invaluable EDC whilst not having so many that it becomes cumbersome for those longer bushcraft journeys #bushcrafters #outdoors #camping #swissarmyknife

I don't see a link for the smock is this the unbranded one from amazon?
😊
Hi, I’m considering buying a pair for hiking. Having used barefoot runningshoes for a long time I have great experience with barefoot shoes. But that is for running. How are these to walk in on hard and flat surfaces? Like asphalt or concrete? In terrain I suspect you automatically resort to a front- and mid-foot strike. But how does this work on roads?😌
@@mortenkirkeb9097 honestly on concrete with a pack on they probably wouldn't be great due to the lack of cushioning - however for a rocky hike I did a while back over 4 days I used gel inserts and I was fine
Thanks for the reply!😀
Great content. Love my Osprey kestrel
You’re right about the straps. I’ve only had issues when it’s loaded to 70l. Not often for me. Indestructible and practical. Well worth the money. Best review I’ve seen.
After using the 45lt for a several years, I ended up getting the 30lt and 60-100lt version aswell. The 30 is my day pack, the 45 is for a weekend to a week and my 60-100 is for the longer expedition. Also, the loops on the belt is to clip climbing equipment on like karabiners etc. The military would be climbing with these pack on, so I have been told. Great video my friend 😂
Trap the pen under the hook and use the knife as a pen
Great review
Nice no nonsense vid. Cheers from a soggy Warrington!
@@jonathanclyne2427 not too far from me!
Love this pack and use it most of the time. Never really use the hip belt loops. Sometimes attach loose carabiners to them and have thought of adding pouches but they would sit on the ground when the pack is down. I find less is more a lot of the time so just leave them. Suppose they're a uselful grab handle if the need arises? 😆
@@Ranging-Dan-Bushcraft it's my go to pack for the woods now. It's brilliant
Good evening Pete how are you doing today mate you are lazy Pete and l am not lazy Steven please replying Pete

@@corleyoutdoors2887 I got hacked and lost everything 😔
Nicely pointed out brother. Shocking how similar the flowers look to Queen Anne lace! I like the stalk ID that’s a big help. Cheers brother
Holy crap! What happened to your channel? Great video, as always. My day is great anytime I watch a video from you P! Be well Craig
@@Forestwalker111 it got hacked and I lost it all buddy 😔 great to hear from you!
@@forresteroutdoors damn! Sorry to hear that buddy. Yt needs to do a better job. Two weeks ago my account was terminated for “spam and or inappropriate content “even though that was obviously not the case and four hours later I got one of these sorry for the misunderstanding emails and they reactivated it but they really need to get a better handle on their security. It’s ridiculous. Good on you for toughing it out, man. Times’s been crazy scarce for me past few years, but I’m gonna make a real effort to watch your videos and get some views on there for you. I’ll try and spread the word to get people to re-sub you. Cheers chum
Finally uploaded
What happened to you old channel fella and where are the vids?
I was looking for your old channel and your videos, but I still couldn't find them. Too bad. There was a lot of interesting stuff there

@@forresteroutdoors damn, that's bad. You're a good guy and your videos are awesome. I hope you restore your channel. My best wishes from Siberia🤙
Excellent review mate, I love the Huntsman! Thanks!
I love mine! Had them for two years, got them for woodsy property chores and hiking including when things would be muddy or snowy. I prefer the leather and air-flowy lining, no membrane. Mine have performed as waterproof since out of the box and I've maintained that with Sno-Seal (an old favorite natural beeswax waterproofer) a few times a year. This model has never had sole-separation problems that I know of.
Did you add the sugar to the mix? Also any yeast?
Does they dry fast?
Mine have only become damp inside on a few occasions, and yes, they did dry in short order. As in setting them somewhere warm overnight.
Finally pulled the trigger on these a few weeks ago. They are incredible - it's like hiking in a super grippy pair of slippers. I've really noticed that they're much easier on the knees on descents because you tend not to strike with your heel like you do with traditional boots. Re. the longevity, it's worth noting that Vivo will repair the boots for a fraction of their cost via their Revivo service, so hopefully you'll get many years out of them - even if it is a "Ship of Theseus" situation!
Great vids, I found you from reddit, would be worth updating that link though as it was broken (looking for forrester bushcraft)
That was still the best Hike ever!!
How can I get one of those rings?
Good morning pete

You mentioned that you had done a video on your current load out but I couldn't find it? It would be good to see a video like that.
That video will be out tomorrow morning. Many of these videos I'm currently posting are older content as my old channel was hacked and I'm building this back up to where I was 🔥

If you had to choose between this Huntsman and the Farmer X, which would you go with and why? 😀
Excellent top model from victorinox it's very very useful for hiking and in woods comparing to other model this is the best model huntsman is always the top from victorinox Swiss army
Love the honesty ! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Have been thinking about picking this one up or the bottle version. This has helped notch me in the direction of the canteen. How ever, I have heard a few people complain about the mouth/opening being folded inwards making cleaning it difficult as there is that small gab in which bacteria etc will collect after a while. I was hoping for your thoughts?
Good morning pete and how are you doing today and my dad on nights shifts again
Hi Pete, canny review of a nice knife. I've got a similar SAK the 'Camping' model. Don't think they make it anymore (there is a 'Camper' model but it's got a few differences). I got it for my 18th, back in the '80s. It's got the same features as yours, but doesn't have the pin or pen, but does have a tiny chisel and metal file. I always have mine with me too. Also it was nice to meet you on the Therapeutic Skills course; keep up the good work, cheers!
That sounds like the Ranger, which is still in production. They retired the camping logo a few years ago, but not the models (a few had camping printed on their scales, Ranger and Camper come to mind. They've just plain red cellidor scales now).
Love my one of these.
Really cool to hear the memories....really shows how timelessly useful the item is
