I'm just a regular guy with a little bit of attention deficit disorder when it comes to the outdoors. I hunt deer, turkeys, ducks, hogs, bowfish, surf fish, kayak, and fish for anything I can catch. My moto is "selflessness not selfishness" here on this channel. I enjoy giving people tips and helping people become better outdoorsmen. If you find my videos helpful, please like and subscribe. Thank you so much for your support!

Public Land Deer Hunting / 8 Point Down!
Fun!
Yes it was!
If you look down the beach, as soon as the tide runs back in, you can see the ripples where sand fleas are digging. I'm not sure about flat areas like this but in OBX it works.
Yes! You can see them on the flat sandy beaches really well, but they’re a little bit harder to see in the coquina. Thanks for pointing that out. I’ll need to cover that in one of my upcoming videos. Thank you for watching!
Definitely hilochee wma
It was my first time there. I didn’t get a chance to check out the rest of the place, but it looked pretty nice from what I did see.
That's alot of people lol
There really wasn’t a lot of people, they just didn’t walk far from the parking area. 🤣 Since I was there first, and nobody else was there at legal shooting light, I stayed close to the parking area too. Then, everyone started piling in after legal shooting light.
Man, I thought those E bikes were supposed to be quiet 😆
Haha! I heard him coming from a mile away. It must have been his chair banging around I guess. He sure was going fast though! 🤣
gotta keep those archery muscles oiled or you'll only be good for a few shots. sometimes ya lucky and only need one good shot
You are exactly right!
I believe in the saying "use it or lose it" and at my age I can't afford to lose anything (I'm 70). So, I shoot at least a few arrows almost daily around my house at close range, then I go out as often as I can to stretch the distances. My bows are both new (less than a year old). One is a Blackout Epic X2 at 60lbs. and the other is a Bear Whitetail Maxx 70lbs. set at 65lbs
Now that’s what I call inspiration! I need to get out and shoot more often myself. Keep at it and good luck out there!
what beach is this place you fished called?
This was in St. Johns County, Florida.
Why are her ears black??
Some deer will have color variations, but the old doe in this video had almost white ears.
I do 3d shoots all summer long.
Competition shoots, or just three practice sessions? Man, I’d like to try some competitions just for the experience.
Also when the runout were showing in the vid around 16 min. You were in between them. I thought you said to fish them! Thanks!
You are correct. The section of sandbar I was standing on wasn’t that big. (Even though it looked bigger in the video) I was able to cast to the outside edges of the runouts to my left and right. Also, on that particular beach, the second sandbar is a little further out and I placed a few baits on the back side of it. Standing on that sandbar allowed me to cast a little bit further. I should have explained that in the video. Thank you for pointing that out!
@@Thats_That_Dudethanks! This helped me out.
Maybe shut up when you’re drawn back 😂 and not look at the rain
I was trying to practice my stamina and weather casting skills. 🤣
@@Thats_That_Dude ok fair enough 😂
@@Elhart-wo1pe 🤣
@@Thats_That_Dudealso makes more sense when I read your bio and mentions attention deficit, all makes sense now 😂 shoot straight brother
What is the best tides to fish?
I like to fish the last two hours of outgoing tide and the first two hours of incoming tide. This allows me to place baits behind the second sandbar. If I can’t fish that particular tide, I will place baits in runouts and in the trough. I hope this helps.
@@Thats_That_Dude During high tide you can throw in the trough between waves . But during low tide where do you throw? Is there a sand bar that is further out during low tide? Is there still a trough and why am I seeing it’s harder to reach.
2011 hoyt rx32
If it still shoots good, keep it!
@@Thats_That_Dude . I dont understand new bow hype. A good bow is like a good woman. You dont trade up, ya hold on to it

*Hey that's cool!* I haven't seen that before! You earned a sub!
Thank you Matt! The rig tool has saved me so much time making surf fishing rigs. I can’t believe it took me so long to find out about it.
Just bought a new diamond. Doesn't shoot any better than my old hoyt xt 2000. I can pull that 20 + year old bow out and shoot tiny groups all day.
One of the best shooting bows I’ve had to date was a Diamond Marquis. I could hold approximately three inch groups at 75 yards with that thing. I kind of wish I never sold it. It’s great to know I’m not the only one who hangs on to older bows! Thanks for the comment brother!
Usually i start in Aug just to give myself plenty of time.
I definitely should follow your routine. 🤣
@@Thats_That_Dude 🤣, well idk about that, a week is enough time, as long as you're taking it serious this week 😁
My 05 Tomkat is still killing. Chasing elk with it now. As much as I'd like to get a new bow it's hard to justify the cost when this one still gets the job done.
Heck yeah! I’m in the same boat. I’m going to keep mine until it breaks. I may throw a new string on it every now and then, but I agree, those new bows are hard to justify.
Not bad dude! I’m still rocking my Mathews drenlen, got it new in 04 I believe. Good luck this season!🦌
Those Drenalins were great bows. It’s pretty cool to shoot these older bows that can perform just as well as the newer ones. Thank you for watching and good luck out there this season!
Where is this place? I live in Tampa and I wanted to find a good place to hunt. Great video!
Thank you! This area is in North Florida. Most of our WMA’s look like this, mostly consisting of pine and palmetto flats. If you’re near Tampa, check out Upper/Lower Hillsborough and Green Swamp WMA. Richloam would be another good option. Good luck out there! 🤙
@@Thats_That_Dudelooks like Osceola where I grew up hunting

Thanks! I saw a lot of deer in this spot, so I’ll be sure to check it out before the season starts. Thanks for watching.
When I deer hunt I see turkey, when I turkey hunt I see deer!…. Never fails!
Every. Single. Time. 🤣
Do you spray the Persimmon scent on your clothes like a scent eliminator spray? Great video by the way!
Yes sir. I spray it on my backpack too, just to cover up any scent that might come from my back sweat. 😅 Thank you for the compliment!
@@Thats_That_Dude Might have to get me some! And yeah I liked seeing what it's like to hunt in the Florida woods. Night and day difference to where I am. Keep them coming
They're nasty, horrible fish! Please leave them in the surf and don't bring them culinary abominations onto shore. The taste, smell, oh so foul. This is especially true around the Corpus Christi area. Also they bring bad luck. They also carry cooties.
Congrats. Good Florida buck!
Thanks brother!
Good hunt. Subscribed
Thank you and thanks for subscribing! Your latest content is great!
@Thats_That_Dude thank you! I know it is tough and time consuming getting content and then creating a video. Respect to anyone doing. Way to represent FL! Good luck this upcoming season!
Thanks for making this video. I'm moving to Melbourne, FL by Indialantic beach soon. Are you pulling some sort of beach wagon outfitted with pole holders and other stuff? I'd love to see a video about the different beach wagons or beach fishing bikes people use there. Also, I'm surprised you don't wear a left hand glove, have lip grips, or fishing pliers. What's the reason for not using those?
I was using a Fish-N-Mate Jr. cart in this video, but I now have a four wheel Sr. cart with a lift. “The Sinker Guy” has a video on RUclips that showcases a lot of custom surf carts. You should definitely check it out. I sometimes wear gloves for sun protection and I usually use pliers to remove hooks from the fish I catch. Thank you for watching!
@@Thats_That_Dude Thanks! I subscribed too!
Alright,Im'a try the persimmon juice.
Haha! I know I make a joke about it, but it really does work.
@@Thats_That_Dude persimmons are basically deer crack
Where do you get your floats from?
I get my floats from DS Custom Tackle and The Sinker Guy websites. Tight lines!
You’re a nice guy .
Thanks! I was mentored by some great people who taught me good mannerisms. Pass it on!
Have you ever used or considered using a bow holder that clips to the rail of your summit tree climber? In my experience it works very well because it adjusts to an angle where you don’t have to move much in order to shoot, and you don’t need to screw anything on the tree. I loved the video! Thank you!
That would be a great option. I may get one of those! Thank you so much for the idea and watching!
Does your bow hangar screw into the tree? That would be a violation on most wmas in Florida. At least up north.
I appreciate the heads up. I actually didn’t even think about that. My bow hanger is the Hawk “Go Gadget”, and it only comes in the screw-in style. I messaged Hawk and suggested they design a strap-on style for use on public lands. Thanks again, I really don’t want to go to jail.
I believe the law pertains to permanent things. Could be wrong. Nails are hell on a saw.
@@Thats_That_Dude😂 jail
Congrats! You got my sub. Keep it up!
Thank you so much!
Why don't you give the tool a name so l can let people know what I'm looking for

Where can i purchase a hat at?
I caught several Pompano as a teenager using my freshwater rig. My dad's surf rig was cast farther out. I'm still learning and searching for the great Pompano. 🎣
Keep learning brother! East Coast Pompano Report on Facebook is a great group to get some good information.
@@Thats_That_Dude Thanks!

Thank you!
Like your skull with antlers on it. Thanks for showing me this. I've a few to repair. I bought me a small all metal ice fishing pole so it won't break. Lol. Caught some big ole cats on that thing with raw shrimp . 🖖
You’re welcome. I actually purchased the wrong kit initially, then I found the Fuji “ultralight” kit at Academy Sports. Those ice fishing rods are awesome!
They are scary. Won't they attack you?
I think the only way they’ll attack you is if they are cornered and/or feel threatened. They usually just run away.
How high up can they fly to roost?
They usually fly about 20-40 feet up in my experience.
Lol . Stuff that thing .
I’ve thought about it, but it’s all just part of her originality now. 🤣
Don’t film it
I think they would respond the same way. 🤷🏼
Ha ha ha
That’s what they sound like sometimes! 🤣
@@Thats_That_Dude funny.
I have a bunch of barred owls at my house. I've tried for years to talk to them and I'm jealous of how well this man has it down
Keep working at it. They’ll be talking back to you before you know it!
You need to be talking turkey.
Oh, I do. I just don’t use calls while roosting the evening before.
David Ross?
Nope. 🤣
I called in several hunters to the edge of my property and on public thinking I was a hen that may have a tom with her. I could tell they weren't turkeys but the nonstop blaring on a box call haha.
It’s scary sometimes when you become the hunted. You must be doing something right though, sounding good! Be careful out there buddy!
You just asked that owl what he was doing around here. He was like "Me?? What are you doing out here??
