There is something deeply moving about scenes like this for me. I understand that, in reality, there would be significant discomfort compared to modern living, but there is something about the simplicity of a medieval life in a village that I crave to experience.. the communal aspect of it, the daily tasks with your hands, the rewarding feeling of returning to warm comfort after braving the cold for the survival of your family and community. No clocks, no cell phones, no computers, no global news, perhaps even no money (or at least not a significant focus on it). You would be so present every day. There are significant benefits to this that we have unfortunately lost, I feel.
