    Hello! Pressing question! Why do we have 2 numbers for a single contact on an ice cube relay? Thank you

    Can you get a dry contact from an ice cube relay? Im working with a tyco k10p-11a15-120 adidthis video would of been helpful on site! I wish knew this sooner. We end up using RBSN and they work great but i see alot if these in the field, and this made me comprehend it. Thank you

      A dry contact means there is no voltage present on the Common that feeds the N.O. and N.C. contact it feeds.

    To be completely clear, 24 volts is required through the coil contact to operate the magnet thing?

    • @brianslota4861
      @brianslota4861 Год назад

      It depends on the “coil rating” for the relay. The example I used was 24VAC, you can get different voltage AC and DC relays

    As a fellow electrician I do appreciate your content that u provide! If u don’t mind could u also provide a diagram so people those of us who would like to do some wiring at home could buy some equipment and experiment in their own??? Respectfully

      Um what diagram would you need.? What you are asking is easy but kinda impossible. The easy part it that most relays will have the diagram printed right on the relay. The impossible part is that there are so many out there, there is no way to give you all the info. That's why there are datasheets. Even the sockets can be different. Even if he gave you the exact same relays diagram and link to the very place he got it form, it is highly likely that you see another one that is cheaper and think it's the same thing and you buy that one instead. So the diagram he might give you will be worthless and you are back at square one. Best thing to do, if you want to experiment, is get on the forums. Go prepared with datasheet or specific goal in mind. Most of the guys on them are very anal and many can read schematics but regular english fucks them up. Many times I read a person asking a specific question and gives details. In those details they even mention what voltage is being used and you'd get an answer to use a specific voltage. You sit there like "You fucking idiot I just said that can't you read." But no you can't say that. You have to sidestep those land mines. Because if you don't answer back, the other so called "senior guys", will ignore you back and not give you the information. If you reply with " Yes I already mentioned that but thanks" You will still get the cold shoulder from the rest. I can give you a link where that happened. There was a simple answer to what the guy was asking but never got an answer. They are very sensitive and have god complexes. They also get mad if someone just gets on the sight and actually gives the person help. I can't give them an answer because when I tried, they kicked me off the sight. Just because you understand what the person was asking for. That happens to me a lot. LOL Good luck.

    Sir do you know how can I control pick up coils out put for distributors? I need some thing to control duration of pulses ore the 4 pin gm ignition module Im experimenting lot with engines so I wuld like to build me self variabel controled ignition timing . Im simply useing multipel engine types so I need some thing that does that task . Im even useing dual coils and dual 4 pin gm ignition modules only problem I have only 1 pick up coil so I need to ajust that for ich coil corectly.

      That can't be done with relays. You need mosfets for that.

      you should be able to obtain a basic single pole relay from a local controls distributor. I am using an IDEC relay. You can use any single pole relay though. I would strongly suggest to buy a lower voltage coil and have a power supply for it so you can switch on the coil. As is stated in the video, I used a 24VAC transformer for the 24 VAC coil on the relay.

      I agree, and based on this video, we have a relay switch that's hooked up to a 24volts and nothing but engage and disengage the power. How about adding a light and use the relay or add some dc powered motor, instead of an electric diagram. No criticism here, just a comment that maybe helpful, after all this video is about how relay works and not schematics.
