We are an RYA Training Centre based in Poole, Dorset, UK running various training courses & also offer bespoke training solutions to focus on a particular area of boating. We can run training from our boat or your boat and we can train on powerboats, sports-boats, RIBs and motor cruisers, either outboards or shaft drive.

a vhf raido makes a sound when someone goes on air... what is that noise called from recieving an audio VHF message on channel 16?
Hi, when an audio signal is received, it is simply played on the speaker of any other radio tuned to channel 16.. you can turn down the 'squelch' which will make the radio pick up all the background noise but the noise itself has no name other than 'background' or 'hiss'
@@DORSETMARINETRAINING not the squelch, I meant like hearing someone pressing on the talk button then letting go of it quickly. That sound the on air and off what is it called?
@@A.A.HadiWhite 'keying of the mic' is the expression sometimes used but there is no official term to my knowledge.
Hola soy seguidor de su pagina , me gustaría hacerte una consulta . tengo un radio Icom IC-M324 con un numero MMSI ya programado, el manual me dice que tengo segunda opción para cambiarlo. cuales serian los pasos a seguir para cambiar ese numero MMSI?
Hi Antonio, to change the MMSI number , the radio needs to be returned to an icom dealer to have the original MMSI removed, do you have an ICOM dealer close by? we can do it but we are based in Poole on the South Coast of England. Dom
