Isn’t getting 8 quarts out of 10 with only draining and filter change considered a high ratio, how did you manage to get all of that old fluid?
@@khalidalghamdi2512 just do more frequent intervals. I did first one at 50k next one at 40k and next one coming up at 30k. Makes a huge difference in transmission performance, don’t over analyze until paralyze just do it. 90% fresh fluid is better than 100% old fluid
How is the prius going on? Any probs occured? A proper review after your one month use pls
It’s purring, to the point that I can’t feel those engine starts and stops, will be posting follow up very soon ! I am having it completely repainted currently.
🇨🇦👍
Wix filters are great filters, I'm an Amsoil Dealer and if I can't get the Amsoil filter I want I get the Wix.
Yes so far so good on a Wix filter, I think it’s a good switch from K&N
You don’t need to tighten the filter any more than you did before the tool. The filter will not fall off
@@stevenbettez2017 definitely won’t fall of and won’t leak for sure
Can you send me the specs , and the bolt pattern sequence please. Have the same car and going to be doing mine tomorrow. Thank you.
Use the electric ratchet,,, off and on..until getting to the torque down part.
🤡, If you only knew what engine flush does internally to your components! Never ever use. 3rd generation mechanic and engine builder.
@@owenhill-vf7ko it’s too bad you don’t build diesel engines for Audi, Mercedes and GM as they sludge up without engine flushes due to EGR valve and emissions systems 🤡 I am currently dealing with all 3 high mileage vehicles
That is not true engine flush especially Liqui moly is incredible.
Wix are some of the best.
I can tell you really take your engine care seriously, but I’m afraid you may doing more harm than good using those additives. You should check out the motor oil geek here on RUclips. He’s a tribologist. He’s shown that additives often do more harm than good. You’re using a high quality oil already so adding things like ceratec is more than likely just diluting the oil. The engine flush is more than likely not needed every oil change. I think to test that you could take a sample of the oil right before you add the flush and then sample the oil after you run the flush and look at the wear metals. I would expect wear metals are increasing due to just idling and adding powerful detergents that throw off the oils protective chemistry. Just a thought. Happy wrenching
Thank you for insightful comment. I much appreciate all the input. Here what iI am doing is an experiment on how many miles this engine will perform with top notch fluids, flushes and additives. The GL350 that’s under the car cover with 340,000 miles has gone through the same treatment and is still going bulletproof . As far as engine, transmission all good thanks to best fluids, flushes and Ceratec additive. Now the idea here is to get to 500,000 on this LM2 engine under given conditions. Now I cannot even describe the benefit Ceratec has on this engine, the spinning momentum when say turning and going uphill without having to floor your gas pedal, just all the torque and power at the right moment without any usual GM hick ups, transmission jerks etc this additive makes marriage between engine and transmission happier
Love the channel! Not a lot of videos on these newer 3.0 Duramax engines.

@@hass1337 my Mercedes GL350 makes similar noises when engine shut off. Not sure what they are exactly maybe someone here can pitch in on it

U overtightened both the oil filter and the drain plug, the oil filter needs to be tightened by hand with no tools, the drain plug has something like 35 NM torque which is very low. Oil filter needs to be tightened 3 quarters of a turn after rubber seal starts touching the mating surface, in other words screw the filter with two fingers, one finger each side of filter when u start getting some resistance and u need more than 2 fingers than u use a marker to make a small mark line on the filter then u turn it 3 quarters of a turn, actually anything between half and full turn is ok.
Will you make video when you hit 150k about timing belt replacement or you will do that in shop?
It’s a good question, I have to weigh my options on that
… yes sir..! Congrats on hitting 100k ..!
😂goin by youtube opinions on oil filter
Valvoline came recently with an oil that is supposed to clean the egine from all deposits, its called valvoline restore&protect, there is big hype about this product u should check it out, I use LM engine flush occasionally.
EGR is what is most likely going to ruin the engine. They are already known for it.
Not sure why you use solvent flush when diesel is basically solvent and used oil is contaminated with it.
If you care so much about this turd and use amsoil and all that, why do you use a filter less filter? K&N is basically not running an air filter…
No dirty air has gone threw that OIL filter.
I noticed the leak on the fuel filter , did you catch that by chance? Saw it dripping after it was priming. I have a 2021 3.0 Tahoe, when I done mine it never did have that leak in video.
Thank you I saw that too after watching the video it’s just a residue that leaked down was like a drop that came out of housing but thankfully no leak.

90K miles?? 😮 In one year?? How is it possible bro? That means you never off the vehicle or that vehicle always on the road. Im still confused if not 9K lol
It’s a fleet vehicle Los Angeles is huge metro area. lots and lots of LAX trips
Thanks for the detailed video! How are you liking the Amsoil Tranny Fluid so far?
… Nice..!! Keep the videos coming..!!
I am not sure how that oil belt going to react with the flush?
This guy does 18 oil changes per year,,,,,
This guy will have to spend about 350k every 20 years on trucks,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,That's saying after 4 years there will be almost 400.000 miles up on this truck,,Most modern engines don't even come close to making it 400.000 miles,,So a new truck will be needed every about 4 years ,Maybe even 3,,,At about 70k for this truck,,350k,,,,,,,,,,OUCH,,,
I have a Mercedes Purring in the background of this video with 340,000 miles and has no issues what so ever. Flush the engine, change the oil don't put cheap fluids in and your car will last 40 years. Miles are just numbers for marketing you a new car.
How do you put up over 8 thousand miles per month,,You would literally have to be driving 8 to 10 hours per day 7 days per week,,You obviously use your truck for work,,Otherwise you would not have time to work because all your time would be taken up driving,,Also you are going to have to buy a new truck every 3 to 4 years ,,Because after 4 years it will have almost 400.000 miles up,,That's 70 grand every 4 years,,,,ouch,,,,
my cars are in my Limo fleet. they literally work every day. I have incentive to put best fluids in them to keep them on the road at least 6 years and some
you do not need engine flush if you do your oil changes in a timely manner

@@MolotovGarage 2003 ford escape 3.0 450,000 still runnin very strong
@@tonywhite425 my daughter drives a 2002 Ford Focus that has 220,000 miles and goes strong. See here I am dealing with diesel engine that has current emissions restrictions that cause these engines to get full of sludge. They need to be regularly flushed, unfortunately. Enjoy your car man these thing with pre emission standards will be worth money with all these electric nonsense getting pushed on us
@@MolotovGarage they do not sludge up if you do the oil intervals in a timely manner
@@tonywhite425 I can’t afford to experiment by not doing flushes that improve performance and avoid clogging my $8,000 DPF filter with soot and have my fleet vehicle be out of commission that means $1,000s of losss in business. Pro Active is better than reactive ( cheaper in the end :) )
I’ve been using the Mobil 1 (dexos D) oil. Is there any preference? Also never used any oil flush. Any recommendations on this?
I use oil flush because it’s a diesel engine and it tends to collect all the soot inside the engine. So it’s preferable to use engine flush to ensure longevity of the engine. You can look up many videos online showing diesel engine tear downs and they are full of black gelatinous crap that slowly kills it. Flush , gets all that out. Why AMSOIL? Just a higher quality product, many folks run their entire fleets on it it’s just a step up from plain vanilla Mobil 1
Lubrication specialist, tribologist, recommend against any oil additives. your oil already has additives. The engine flush additives will interact with your oil and likely for the worse
@@KforConstant if regular oils have all The additives then why engines fail prematurely if you don’t flush them
@@MolotovGarage because they fail even if you do flush them... Correlation is not causation. Changing your oil frequently is the best way to prevent premature engine failure. There is a chance that the oil treatment is helping, but you honestly cannot know unless you get you oil tested with and without oil "treatment." Also, to truly know it is best to do 2 oil changes between testing since the oil "treatments" will linger around. Look up motor oil geek, who makes good digestible content on motor oils.

Thankfully it’s a 2wd model so I don’t have to deal with the transfer case or front differential either. Only rear differential. I will post a video soon on fluid change on rear diff thank you for viewing the videos 👍😎
Ohhh i c ., you have the diesel engine ., thats why you dont have the exhaust across the bottom of the pan .
I believe you did remove the exhaust right ??
@@victorrodriguez8917 this is a 2WD model so there is thankfully no exhaust pipe or any drive shaft on the way. It’s a good mention I will mention that on next transmission fluid change.
I like to tighten all the bolts to 20 pounds and then do them all to the recommended torque. The gasket can be re-used several times.
Yes the transmission gasket is solid, I saved the original one, in any case of emergency can be reused.
Your tranny will last a long time if you change the fluid regularly. It shifts better too.
Amsoil is not an oil that benefits from additives really. If anything you may have damaged or reduced the effectiveness of the additive package already engineered in amsoil
Have to run oil tests to see exactly without throwing maybes , but for now it has gotten my GMC to 95k and my Mercedes to 340k miles

When you swap the filter.... the bolts take 44 in/lbs PLUS 128 degrees of rotation. You left that part out.
Does anyone have this in a procedure. IF you rotate another 128° it seems like you will increase the torque dramatically
I just stick to 44 in lbs, once torque wrench buzzes its enough for me. These bolts impossible to find I dont want to risk stripping them or inside the tranny
