If you have the 130, you’ll keep the panel under the window and you’ll have to drill your own own holes in it. The kit comes with a trim panel for the 110, which is too short for the 130. I used an electric drill to drill two holes through the panel. On the plus side my drilled panel matches the car color
Thanks for uploading, just ordered one also. Any chance you’ll do the cargo box?
I have looked at the cargo box, but to be honest I am not sure I would use it. I am currently working on a Milwaukee system where everything clips into the back or even on the roof rack. They are super solid on a trip. Here is what I have so far. Plus their cooler works the same way. Super impressed with it all. instagram.com/reel/C3k3YeXrMKZ/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
I installed this unit in my 21 gladiator and lost my back up camera and steering wheel controls.
Nice video! I bought the same ladder on eBay for $213.00. You may want to check your spacers though. It would appear the correct Install keeps the ladder away from the body of the vehicle to prevent rub marks.
thanks! mine isn’t touching the body at all.
Did you figure out why the camera was black and white?
Yes! there was a simple setting that had to be changed in the backup video setting. I don't remember exactly what it was because I was just pressing buttons and fixed it. Sorry, I know that wasn't much help.
The weather stripping goes between the ladder and the body to prevent rattles when u slam the ladder closed against the body
@@chrisdenicola4336 On mine the ladder doesnt even come close to touching the body so I am not sure how that would even matter, but I will take another look at it. Thanks!
So, it attaches to the actual car and NOT to the platform?
@@sharmilabandyopadhyay2884 Yes and no. The lower part of the ladder connects to mounting points on the car under a trim piece. You can either use the trim piece that comes with the ladder or drill holes in the one you have. For the top part, it mounts to the roof rails that the platform mounts to. You will not have to remove the platform to install it. Hope that answers your question.
Thanks for the instruction video! Well done! I feel less concerned about installing that same ladder which has been sitting unboxed in my garage.
@@frantzlauredant3425 Don’t be concerned at all. It’s a great ladder and I use it all of the time.
I bought this after seeing your video. Did you figure out what that weather style strip was for?
@@dennisslobodian3107 unfortunately no, but I am not having any issues without it.
@@ogjourneys thanks for the response
After a few months with this, how has it held up? Is it noisy as hell? Thanks!
@@SvendB-w8g its been really good! I was planning on a doing a follow up video on it in the next few weeks. I don’t notice the noise at all, but I have the roof rack on it so that is what I hear.
@@ogjourneys Awesome, thanks so much! Cheers!
Thanks for the great video. I was skeptical on buying the copy version on Amazon but feel a lot better after seeing your video!
@@joeyxsolo yeah, its super easy and the ladder is great.
Brilliant video mate!! Well done ile following it 👌
Thanks 👍
very good video
Thanks
How is the noise level when driving now with ladder installed?
I have the roof rack so to be honest, I can't tell the difference at all.
So I bought a jk4001, install was fairly simple but CarPlay would not work, wireless or wired. Support nonexistent and their website went off line a week ago. Satellites were always searching and it lost power and bricked twice. Once I resurrected it by disconnecting battery but that is unsustainable. The few specs available are great but non of it worked for me. I’d stay away far away…
That is super weird that nothing was working for CarPlay. Sounds like you got a bad one. I did notice that they were offline as well. After doing some research I found they closed up. Just to be clear on the CarPlay, it is only wired and not wireless. Did you have the black CarPlay box thing plugged in and are you plugged into the right usb port that says CarPlay on it?
I did have it plugged into the CarPlay usb, and I’d show you in their website that wireless was supported too but it’s off line. In fact they discussed why wireless and wired couldn’t be enabled together because they both use same pathway. Anyway, it’s useless to me and obviously support is nonexistent Good luck with yours
was there any wire cutting or smoldering or any wire tampering thats necessary to do?
Nope, this was 100% plug and play. The wiring harness that plugs the factory stereo is what plugs into the back of the head unit.
Do you have a link to where you found the ladder?
Sure! They are in the description but here are two options. amzn.to/3xf4vQy - This one is in stock right now, but $100 more than the one I installed. amzn.to/3VvQdVU - This is the one that is in the video for $200, but it is currently out of stock. It looks like it has been sold out for a week or two now and not sure when it is coming back.
What luck! I just got the 4001 delivered today. Thanks for the install review.
absolutely, I have been sitting on this video for a bit since I wanted to make sure I liked the radio. I hope your install goes well! Let me know if you have any questions.
Do you fill it through the spigot?
For a pressure tank to work well only fill it 3/4 full of water to leave room for pressurized air. And the pipe it’s self is rated well above 100 psi
Seems like a waste of time and resources. I just don’t see why this is better than the hanging solar shower bag. I have been using those for years with excellent results. Plus you can move the shower bag into the sun while the trailer is in the shade and it costs less and it works off gravity and requires no power...
Thanks for comment. Sounds like a solar shower bag is what works well for you. Until I get out and try this in the spring, not sure how much I will like it or not. For me it was about the ease of transport and keeping the weight of the water where I want it. Nothing is a waste of time and resources if you learn something and I learned a lot by doing this.
Careful that doesn't let go in your face when putting pressure to it. This doesn't look like pressure rated pipe or fittings... Black ABS is usually drainage only. You want to use pressure rated pipe/fittings, for the large diameter stuff sprinkler supply stores have what you need.
Great job man and thanks so much for sharing! Something to consider...placing the air bowl on the water refilling side and moving the water spigot under the pipe will allow 100% of the water out without losing much air pressure. An RV pressure regulator (Amazon) could also be placed to regulate only once so it can just be forgotten about!
Thanks! I did think about moving where the water spigot was at. When I looked at it being on the bottom I am not sure it would have mattered since it doesn't sit flush with the inside of the pipe. I put the spigot as low as I could so I could put a nut on the inside to help hold it in place. I like the idea of putting the air on the other side of the pipe as well, but didn't want to stand next to something that might pop-off (like it did in with the rubber plug) while I was filling it. I will look into the RV pressure regulator though. Thanks!
