5 Miles of Hell YZ250X
This was the first time I've done 5 MOH. These are some of the highlights of our ride. I wouldn't call it hell but it was tough! Definitely a trail for expert riders. I am 36 been riding for 25 years, been into technical single track on YZ250's for 10 Years. I currently have a well set up YZ250X I bought new in 2016. My Friend in the video has a similarly set up '02 YZ250.
Enjoy

Timbersled Snowbike

Riding a Timbersled snow bike mounted to a 2016 YZ450FX the day after Christmas 2016 With my best, good buddy Logan and his new Snow bike set up. We had the 2nd biggest snow storm on Christmas day in recorded history in northern Utah. The 450FX worked great as a snow bike and the electric start was a welcomed feature.

This is my new to me '01 Scorpa SY250. I been wanting to get into trials for a long time. Just started learning some basic skills, and challenging myself in the local terrain. I'm hooked, it's a blast!

2015 November weekend on my new 2016 YZ250X. Out with the boys before Logan gets married in a few days! Awesome weather, Awesome bike. The X has smooth tractable power, Phenomenal suspension and the wide ratio tranny is great! My go pro got knocked forward so the visor blocks some of the view :(

How far can a tank of oil go? What is the proportion of oil mixed?
I noticed you ride your 2-stroke very smooth un like most people that constantly rev it out.. you seem like the right person to ask how many miles do you get on a tank of gas with yours ?
Haha that comes from riding trials bikes. Spinning the wheel faster doesn't always mean more traction. I've been on 60+ mile rides without hitting reserve. It'll probably run dry around 80 miles with the oversized Clarke tank.
@@mb2stroke816 that's not too bad of range.. thank you for your info
Nice, I'm on a 14 YZ250 mx bike that i've turned into my woods bike. Too much fun! I'l probably go to the X when I can. Most everyone else I ride with is on the KTM / Husky's but I love the white and blue! Its too fun! Sub'd, hit me back on our channel. We're just starting out here in Western Canada.
Ride.Enduro thanks for the comment. I come from a MX, freeriding background so the YZ fits my style great. I bet you have endless epic woods single track up there in Canada! lucky.
Too many trails to keep track of! I live 30 mins from our staging area in the Foothills of the Rocky Mountains. I just started riding a couple years back (dirt bike) been Downhill Mtn biking forever. Hoping to get some epic views in my upcoming ride vids.
Where was this filmed?

MB2Stroke Awesome video by the way.
Great riding... I have 100hrs on my yz250x and ride the same typ terrain here in northern NV. This bike is seriously underrated.... but only by those that don't own them..... I did a ride today on my king quad because of snow and felt like I was on a 3 legged drunken turtle..
MB, I'm from St.George (aka recreational paradise) countless trails and perfect weather for riding year round. My stock 250x runs great in this terrain ( primarily sand dunes and desert trails). Just need to make a few adjustments to set it up for enduro. I was raised on Honda's, but have owned just about every brand motorcycle. I agree the 250x has the best stock suspension, which is great for an older guy like me that appreciates the added mobility after a days ride.10 years ago I rode KTM 2T dirt bikes exclusively, I didn't mind the suspension flaws and expensive replacement parts, as the KTM 2T motor was, and still is incredible. IMO (really more of a fact than opinion) Yamaha owns the 4T market, it's exciting to see them invest in 2T's again, Yamaha is a smart company, I hope they sell every 250x, exceeding their projected annual revenue goals. Perhaps this will spur the rest of the field into action. Which would be a great thing for all of us 2 Stroke freaks.. Secretly I'm rooting for Beta, to me, it's the bike Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Suzuki should be building. Too bad for us it's all about money, and motocross is the primary focus for these companies. I could go on for days about this, and get even more off track. (no pun intended) Thanks again for your feed back.. If you're down this way, send me a note..I work 6 months out of the year and always looking for people to ride with.. I'm a decent tour guide also.
I've had the same bike for a few months now, and love it also.. I want to set it up for the type of riding you are doing in Moab. From the video I see you have hand guards, desert tank, you mentioned you changed the gearing and clutch. Could you elaborate further on the brands of aftermarket parts you chose and the retailer?
+Jason Holt Sure, my set up is Clarke tank, Magura hydraulic clutch ( just lever and slave cylinder, clutch itself is stock.) 13 t front sprocket, I'm 220 so I need the extra torque, V force reeds, Gnarly/ Power core 2 FMF, Gpr stabilizer, .48 springs in front and 5.1 in the rear (Both stiffer) Stock suspension valving (love it!) Acerbis hand guards, EBC 280mm over sized front break rotor, Fastway foot pegs in the low position, TM Designworks chain guide, Slider and Skid plate. To set up for technical riding, I'd say re gear sense first is high like the mx YZ, if your lighter weight maybe just add one or two teeth in the back. Pipe and reeds will help with a little more power, and of course skid plate and hand guards. I got everything from my local dealer. Rocky mountain ATV would be a great retailer I love my set up on this bike. Ive rode YZ's for a long time, When they announced the X, I immediately jumped at the chance. Even though My old YZ was pretty much like the new X, The wide ratio tranny and smooth power was well worth it!
Thank you, I use RM ATV also.. Are you happy with the Clarke tank? Everything you mentioned is on my list except the fastway pegs. Which I definitely need.. The gearing, I will add a couple teeth on rear sprocket ( I weigh 165lbs). I'm purchasing a Lectron carburetor also. Planning on riding the Paiute trail this summer and think the Lectron will simplify jetting. Also whats your thoughts on TUbliss air chamber system? Are you from Northern Utah or Southern? I appreciate your feedback.. Will post videos of the 250x climbing the local sand dunes early next week. I really struggled with deciding between the 250x and the Beta 300 RR. When I came across your video, I felt better about my decision. Thanks again.
+Jason Holt, Clarke tank is great! great price, good fit, I've had this tank 5 years and this is actually the 3rd YZ Ive had it on! and I like the shape of it. I've never used TUBliss, looks like a good system. I run regular tubes and check pressure before every ride (16-17 Lbs) and try and watch where I'm going and I never get flats and rarely ding rims. The 300's have nice torque of the bottom but the suspension and handling compared to the YZX is night and day. you made the rite choice, A YZ250X will go anywhere a 300 ktm/beta for less$ and better suspension rite out of the box! (like hit the big jumps on the track the next day good!) I'm from northern, You? I look forward to your videos, I'll get some more up too!
How is the low to mid? Is the power delivery smooth? I've ridden 4 strokes my whole life and keep looking at this yz250x and thinking it's something I'd like to try. I rode the first 3 miles of 5 miles of hell on my crf250x in November and ran out of daylight (late start and big group). I wished I had a lighter bike at the end of that day.
+jacobdewey2003 Yes, it is butter smooth. I rode a regular YZ 250 for years. I loved it but it would wear me out and it would break traction from the strong hit, but the new X is smooth tractable power yet strong. I love the YZ250X, it was a good move by Yamaha! Might still be a change coming off a four stroke though, like it would be on any 2 stroke. I'd love to do 5 miles of hell, It's on my bucket list!
Did awesome in nasty technical stuff! I dropped one tooth in the front and added a magura hydraulic clutch system. I was extremely happy with it!
WOW LOOKS LIKE A KTM FREERIDE OR BETA XTRAINER TRAIL ! NICE HOW IS THAT YZ250X DOING? TRIALSY ENOUGH FOR THOSE ROCKS ?
WISH IT HAD E START ?
No, I'm OK with out weight and added complications of the starter. I've ridden Beta's and KTM's, I prefer this YZ. it's much more aggressive rite out of the box.
I bet! Good stuff.
KTM KILLER?
Bo don't do cliffs. Nice ridding though
