Creating Beautiful Displacement Worlds in Hammer Editor

This is a one-take educational video on my displacement workflow. This video is made for educational purposes only and contains no editing or entertainment skits.
This is not a short format video, and the mapper is expected to have an intermediate knowledge of Hammer Editor, however, I do drop some tips on good technique and info regarding 3D skybox creation and alignment.

This tutorial does a very good job at teaching complex terrain and a good workflow, while remaining digestible and entry level
Very good looking map. For some reason I thought this video is from 10 years ago not 10 days but it is propably because most Hammer tutorials are that old.

Any idea how can I achieve this on goldsrc without the displacements panel
Use triangles instead! There's a really cool goldsrc dev I've seen on youtube here, he has some videos of him using his technique. www.youtube.com/@Dimbark
Even though it's raw footage, it teaches a lot in this video. I've learned more about displacements and this video helps show a good strategy to making clean displacements. I'll show this to my friends to help out with their maps. The thing that was scary about displacements is how they are very difficult to make clean, due to their chaotic behavior. It helps show how to be careful with displacements in this video and avoid making the dirty brushwork.
