Shadow the Hedgehog is fighting Van Grants?

I know this isn't really the canon but thinking about that Sigmund and Albert style line... if Albert is supposed to be a rendition of Albain, then this line almost makes sense, as Guy shares more artes with Cless than Luke, Van, or Asch. They said in game that the secrecy of said fighting style was to protect the other. Given a similar plot point in another PS2 RPG that was also ported to the 3DS (DQ8), might it be possible that in doing so, the names of the two styles were changed? Not to protect the weakness of the fighting style but to make the style less well known in general? By say... passing down the true techniques orally? In other words, Sigmund style could in fact be the original Albert style and the now taught Albert style is the off shoot version that doesn't teach all of the actual techniques. All that to protect users of the genuine fighting style under the veil of anonymity by putting the off shoot style in the spotlight.

But Luke has the last laugh, or trolling, by killstealing Van.

I think the game screwed up.... Doesn't Van (and therefore Luke and Asch) fight with the Albert style, and Guy with the Sigmund style?

Yeah if you analyse what's Jade is saying you realise that he described what just happened. Yep... Powerful earthquakes resulted into avanlanches. So clever, If I remind correctly there's no boss monster during this trip in Keterburg.

I think you also have Tear to be out of your fighting party too. I tried it myself (without luke) and it didn't work. I only got the part with Jade hitting Van's arm and the quip about not having killed him.

I can just hear Vegeta saying "Mine mine mine mine mine!" as Luke jumps in to take the last hit.

So wait, hold the phone. If I but Jade or another character in Luke's place, it's a new ending?!!?

To think, I would've gotten this scene if I had decided to continue leaving Luke out, since I play as Guy most of the time. =P

Maybe a softer approach suits Van better. He doesn't exactly fit the image of a crazy world-destroying villain - he's more of an anti-villain if you ask me (he's not really evil, ultimately tries to do good but does it wrong, etc.). But the voice-acting does seem kind of subpar in these scenes. XD At least JYB is pretty good with his Guy lines (and McConnohie aka Van is actually rather good here, too... 40 years of voice-acting experience at work, I guess).

Scratch that, he's been in the industry for nearly 40 years.

I usually love Kirk Thornton's Jade, but his voice sounded weird here. o_o ...Michael McConnohie's Van is superb, though. Didn't expect any less from a guy who's been voice-acting for over 30 years. XD

Jade and Kratos(from tales of symphonia) would make an awesome team. If there was a game that had both of them in it, I would buy it the second it bcame out and play it nonstop until I beat it cause thats how awesome those two are. :D

You should also mention that you can't have Tear in the party either, otherwise she'll have her ending play no matter the slot that she's in.

yeah!!!! they should!! this is my 2nd favorite game of all time.. ffx being the first :) both of these games have very interesting world and story.. and how the story unfolds is amazing :) i definitely love these kind of video game :)

you will need to fight 256 battles in HARD mode ANYWHERE :)

I thought you meant that Jade would die in the end with 'ending'. Since I really 'love' him I was so freaking scared that I stopped playing.Then I watched this,prepared to cry,saw his awesomeness and played trough the game with double speed to see this,too :'D
