Fronteer is an initiative by Sheffield based artists Michael Borkowsky and Sharon Borkowsky that provides creative opportunities for all. In 2020 Fronteer opened Fronteer Gallery in Sheffield, and has established a programme of open-call exhibitions. Fronteer still continue to devise exhibitions at other venues on a freelance basis.

Here's a quick tour of 'full Circle', a joint exhibition by Lucy Waters and Wendy Kirwood, who were the winners of the Fronteer Open 2023 Judge's Choice award and People's Choice Award respectively. Lucy is a socially and politically engaged ceramicist using text and imagery to convey messages. Wendy is a painter who deals with themes of landscape, sense of place, memory and nostalgia.

Kristýna is a flautist, and her performance saw her perfume live in response to the Winter Solstice and to the work in our Winter Solstice show, which featured 30 artists from across the UK.
