Make It, Take It, Use It: How to Make 4 Sketchbooks from 1 Sheet of Paper
Просмотров 31 тыс.4 года назад
In this lesson, I’ll show you how to make 4 accordion sketchbooks from a full sheet - 22” x 30” - of good watercolor paper. I’m especially fond of accordion sketchbooks because the size of the artwork can be flexible - one panel, a 2-3 page spread or a panorama. It’s your choice. And they’re the perfect size to take with you from room to room or on your travels around the neighborhood and beyon...

Very nice presentation. Thank you!
Wonderful ideas ❤ tks
As someone whos been wanting a sketchbook im not so attached to,and one i can quicklg doodle in thank you for this, soemtimes my grand parents get me big sheets of cheap paper, which would be absolutely perfect for this (not really a water color artist, love my pencils and pens so the cheap stuff works),so very much thanks for sharing this♡.
❤ it one word BRILLIANT!!!!! ....Thank you for excellent fun tutorial.....I have liked and subscribed to show support for your channel going to binge watch more......Hugs from Scotland 🤗
Thankyou so much I can’t wait to have a go myself. So glad I found this tutorial.😀xx
😮🎉😊❤
Excellent instructions! thanks
What an excellent and helpful video! Thank you very much!
that is NOT a deckled edge.. that is a torn edge .. lol..
deckled is the marketing term used to sell you torn paper lol
Wonderful video! Thank you.
Hi Marilyn, I just found your channel and I find it awe me! I love the idea to make these books for the grandchildren. Thanks so much for the tips, detailed instructions and fabulous results. New ubsriber! ❤❤❤
You gave a very clear, concise tutorial on making an accordion sketchbook. Thank you.
You're amazing! I learned so much from this video. Your book making videos are awesome as well. This video was explained in such a way that helped me understand incredible paintings do not happen in 2 to 3 minutes for seasoned great artists. I'm excited to try blocking out the noise for many of the pictures I've taken. Thank you so much! You have a new subscriber.😊👍
I was wondering about prepping the wood panel to avoid over time the wood fibers breaking down the watercolor painting? Like putting a wood sealant on the panel? Or a process that would make it archival?
thank you very much!
TY for this tutorial. For me, Elmer’s and similar glues cause the paper to wrinkle. Tombow glue with the green top, Bearly Arts glue, Glitter Glue (no glitter in it), or any PVA glue made without water won’t wrinkle the paper. ❤
This is unreal!
Wonderful. Great Tutorial. Thank You for taking the time to make this video
Wonderful Project. Great Tutorial. Your Visual and Verbal Instructions were very helpful. Thank You for taking the time to make this video.
Thank you!
Is that watermark only on larger paper? I have Canson 140lb and Arches 140lb 100% cotton and I can't fine the watermark.🤷♀
look harder
@@KobieK lol ok😂
Muchas gracias!

Thanks so much Marilyn for the tutorial and the pdf! 😊
Thank you so much Michelle for clear and accurate info on making the little book just what I have been looking for…have a lovely day❤
That was a great tutorial!
❤Thanks for this!
what is the final size of this cute journal?
It's simple maths. You know the size of the sheet. Go from there.
Very helpful. Ty!
Tudah Rbah (thank you very much). // SHLM & HaB (peace & love). The Name of the Creator is Hayah asher Hayah, as what He told Moshah (Exodus 3:14), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. There is a curse to the G-o-d name (Isaiah 65:11-12), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. All followers of the Messiah are to do the 7 appointed times (Leviticus 23), but no more animal sacrifices, following the Crucifixion of the Messiah. We are now of the order of MLK TSDQ (King, righteous), to Whom ABRaHM tithed. Ask the Messiah to be your personal Savior. He said to him, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6). ...for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of Hayah (Romans 3:23). The wages for sin is death but the gift of ALaHYM is Everlasting Life through Messiah Yahushgh our Master (Romans 6:23). That if you confess with your mouth the Master Yahushgh and believe in your heart that ALaHYM raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved (Romans 10:9). He Himself is an Atoning Offering for our sins, and not for ours only but also for all the world (1 John 2:2). The Messiah died on the cross, & Resurrected three days later (presenting Himself as First Fruits to the Father). Please ask Him to be your Savior. He is the ONLY way to Everlasting Life.
8.00 is about what I pay for arches 140. I have used Baohoung Academy for concertina books.
I love making them and I love painting in them!
Also your artwork is really great thanks for sharing it. ❤🎨
That was fantastic thanks for your great ideas and I really appreciate it. 👍❤
I'd use a different glue for the copy machine paper - Elmer's makes the paper wrinkle for me. I learned how to make these 40 years ago in Calligraphy class and it's a timeless design. Thanks for making a clear and concise tutorial!
Thankyou!
Great idea!
This was necessary and brilliant! Thank you. I'm going to be saving so much money, and can now dig out all of my "copies" from under our bed in that long pan box. Thank you, Marilyn!
Why give someone else my money and credit, when I can do it on a quarter? Thank you for the instructional video, but I couldn't locate the link to follow you, or to print out the directions. ☺
very usefull ❤
I can't find your website
Great tutorial, thanku very much.
Thank you so much for this video. I’ve been looking for an easy, creative way to make my own sketchbook. Love your teaching style, too!
no link to marilyn wescott for the pdf.
Brilliant idea! 💕🙏🏼💕
Ok I also love your idea of make it a “rule”
So cool … I agree with “I made it myself “ 💕 I love this idea 💡
I enjoyed your presentation, however, when you said to cut the corners right up to the point of the cardboard, most if not all of the artists I have watch say to cut with a bit of paper off the corner with the cut being at a slight angle so the cardboard does not show. I hope I have not offended you.
No offense taken! All ideas for making things clearer are welcome!
Very clear and helpful. Thank you.
I tried making one of these and noticed the creases were torn. Is that normal? Seems like using two panels with a torn crease would result in a visible line on the artwork.
If the folds are made across the long grain of the paper, they will be rougher and may crack a little.
Great content nice sharing😃beautiful.
