Dumb question; how did you figure out the key its in to program your bassline and added instruments ? Thanks
Not a dumb question at all. The MPC has an algorithm that can recognize the key of a sample, so I often use that or just use my ears, but some people with better ears than mine have noted that I play some notes of the bassline a bit out of key on this beat hehe.

Yeah I know. I just couldn’t be bothered fine tuning the sample this time. Also it wasn’t too obvious on my speakers as I was creating the beat so I just went with it and got my ideas out. Might have to tap in a bit more in the future and also wear headphones lol. Thanks for your feedback anyway!

The original song used is "Notte di luna calante", by Domenico Modugno (the same guy of "Volare"). It's strange an italian compilation of different songs was in sweden, but cool 😅 (well, united europe, I guess 😊 ). Btw, nice result 😉

i will never understand why people start with the sample, have an idea and didnt record it and switch to the drums 😅 why? record the sample chops over 8 bars and let the drums follow. If u fix the sample-part you can go much more creative and individual with the drums. The sample is so fckin dope but the drums are so basic and boring
